High-ranking visitors at Salzburg’s masterpiece against Sturm Graz: Mark Mateschitz was there live in the Red Bull Arena – with his friend Victoria Swarovski. A column by Christoph Nister.
The title thriller proved to be nerve-wracking for everyone involved. Salzburg’s sports director Christoph Freund was already sweating long before the clash with Sturm Graz. In order to “warm up” for the big event, the fit 45-year-old ran a half marathon in the morning. After triumphing over Sturm, which gave Salzburg its tenth championship title in a row, he got soaked again because he was given a beer shower. The celebrities who didn’t want to miss the top game were spared applause from BossDie. Konrad Laimer relaxedly watched the game from the stands, as did Leipzig colleague Dominik Szoboszlai and Niko Kovac. Mark Mateschitz did not miss the crowning of “his” team. The Red Bull boss, like his companion Victoria Swavorski, even gave a standing ovation after beating the big rival for the title.
