Gen V barely finished, Amazon is already working on another series derived from its box office The Boys For Prime Video. This is what we know for the moment.
According to American media sources VarietyAmazon would develop a third spin off for its flagship series The Boys. While waiting for confirmation from Amazon (which is currently communicating the first images of its series adaptation of the video game fallout), the conditional therefore remains in place. This spin-off series would take place in Mexico and be filmed in Spanish.
A spin off to seduce Latin America?
This new project would therefore arrive after the little animated show The Boys present: Les Diaboliques and the adolescent variation Gen V. The latter also recently concluded the broadcast of its first season on Prime Video, designed to “furnish” while waiting for season 4 of The Boys, expected next year. A season 2 was also ordered last October.
It is still too early to talk about script and casting, but many names already seem attached to this project.
A team already winning
First, Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures are reportedly returning to production, as is the creator of the parent series, Eric Kripke. He would be accompanied by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver from Point Gray Pictures, but also by Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty from Original Film. All or almost all produced Gen V. In addition, a certain Diego Luna (the excellent Star Wars series Andor) and Gael Garcia Bernal (actor in Werewolf by Night at Marvel) would join the party. They might also end up in front of the camera.
Finally, Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer should take care of the writing. The latter is already familiar with superheroes and Mexican culture, since he is Mexican himself and recently wrote the script for the DC film Blue Beetle. Amazon is also reportedly looking for a second person to support it as showrunner.

With its subscription price always (a little) more attractive than the others, Prime Video is a very interesting SVoD solution. If it still lacks a few additional flagship series to be able to be fully compared to Netflix, the platform offers a varied and rich enough catalog to keep you busy for a while. It also stands out with its X-Ray functionality and excellent video quality which can help forgive a few bugs here and there.
