A husband died trying to stop his wife from leaving with her lover in Baccarat, Meurthe-et-Moselle, on Sunday April 3. His wife ran over him with her car.
It was on Sunday April 3 thata breakup turned into drama. A man in his forties is dead crushed by his wife at Baccarat, Meurthe-et-Moselle, in the morning. It is by wanting to hinder the departure of his wife to leave with her lover that this tragedy happened. His concubine is suspected of “spouse murder”, according to the public prosecutor François Pérain. Initially she was to be charged for “attempted homicide”. The vehicle the woman was driving belonged to her lover. Both were taken into custody.
Regarding her lover, he was suspected for a while. Only he assured thathe was not in the vehicle during the facts. In a press release, Mr. Pérain indicated that he was exonerated. The history of his phone as well as witnesses really showed that he was not present in the car. His custody was therefore lifted. Monday April 4th. As for the 34-year-old driver, she was presented to an investigating judge on Tuesday, April 5. “We are going to seize her for spousal murder”added the prosecutor.
He said to her at the window: “don’t leave”
Sunday, April 3 around 5:30 a.m., the victim front of the car, according to witnesses. She would have tapped against the glass while repeating several times “Do not leave”. Still, the woman made a brisk acceleration carrying the victim over several meters. “She accelerated hard and carried the victim for a hundred metersuntil crashing into a second vehicle and then fleeing”, confides Mr. Pérain.
“According to testimonies and the statements of the driver, she was very much alone in the vehicle at the time of the events”, added Mr. Pérain. “Her lover had lent her his car and she indicated that following an argument with her partner, she had wanted to leave the marital home in this vehicle“, again according to the prosecutor. “She also claimed to have been victim of domestic violence“, said the magistrate. “AT to our knowledge, she had never filed a complaint“, continues the prosecutor François Pérain. It was while going to the Nancy hospital as a companion of the patient with her lover that the two were arrested.
