This sanction follows a sequence of Do not touch My TV aired last November. A sequence during which an altercation broke out between Cyril Hanouna and the deputy Louis Boyard, about Vincent Bolloré, owner of C8. A fine of 3.5 million euros was pronounced Thursday, February 9 against the channel, Arcom considering in particular that “this sequence reflected a lack of knowledge by the publisher of its obligation to control the antenna” .

The guest had been “explicitly prevented from expressing a critical point of view”

In addition, in a second decision, C8 was given formal notice to comply with the stipulations of its agreement relating to the honesty and independence of information, Arcom considering, these are the terms of the press release, that “the guest had been explicitly prevented from expressing a critical point of view on set with regard to a shareholder of the Canal+ group, to which the C8 television service belongs”.

The Canal+ group reacted immediately to this decision. He deplores this decision which, according to him, does not take into account “in any way the behavior of Louis Boyard on the plateau of Touch not at my post”. He also indicates that he will implement the possible remedies “as soon as possible”.
