Lifespan speculation

On this part of the article, we are going to speculate by taking example on the last titles of Striking Distance Studios and Kraftonincluding the iconic series dead space. These games aren’t very long, with around ten hours of gameplay on the clock, so don’t expect an adventure like God of War: Ragnarok or to that of Elden Ring.

Content coming in 2023

Striking Distance Studios technical director Mark James said The Callisto Protocol would have a full year of support after launch.

” We consider [The Callisto Protocol] as a full service game and we will invest in DLCs. We expect a full year of support after the game is released.

We like to think of it as a franchise. All developers, when creating new IP, like to think of it as an investment in a franchise. Creating new IP is very expensive, so we want to try to get the most out of it. »

Mark James, Technical Director

Like Dying Light 2, many DLCs will be released to continue the horrific story of The Callisto Protocol. However, apart from this declaration, no clear information has been given for the moment on the operation of this future support. However, Mark James gives some additional details.

“We left the world expandable. We’ve created a world that can tell different stories, and so we can either tell those stories through DLC or tell those stories through later products. For now, we have a linear story mode. […] We can still tell the whole story of the outbreak in the prison without even touching the linear story. »

Mark James, Technical Director

Thus, the DLC could introduce different game modes, some of which are largely inspired by other survival horror titles. But nothing really identifies future content planned for The Callisto Protocol.
