Michael Bully Herbig will be filming again soon! The sequel to the successful comedy “The Shoe of Manitu” is scheduled to appear in 2025.

Almost a quarter of a century after the extremely successful comedy “The Shoe of Manitou” caused ecstasy at the German box office Michael Bully Herbig (55) will bring a sequel to cinemas. “The Canoe of Manitu” is scheduled to premiere in 2025, according to Constantin Film, the production company herbX film and the broadcaster RTL, which is involved in the production.

“We are so excited to announce the sequel to ‘The Shoe of Manitu’,” says one Instagram post by herbX film. It is already indicated there that well-known characters from the predecessor will appear again: “Abahachi, Ranger and Dimitri will return to the big screen in 2025 with ‘The Canoe of Manitu’!” Herbig will probably be in front of the camera himself – alongside Christian Tramitz (68) and Rick Kavanian (52), who embodied the characters mentioned in the first part.

“The Canoe of Manitu”: Filming will take place this year!

“The Shoe of Manitu”, a parody of the popular Karl May films from the 1960s, is considered one of the most successful German films. As with “The Shoe of Manitu,” Herbig will take a seat in the director’s chair. According to Constantin Film, he will also be responsible for production. According to a press release, filming is scheduled to begin in 2024. The script comes from Herbig, Kavanian and Tramitz. Details about the cast will be revealed in the coming months.

“Bully is undoubtedly considered one of the most outstanding filmmakers in Germany and has mastered the art of making people laugh with his distinctive humor,” enthuses Oliver Berben (52), Deputy Chairman of the Board of Constantin Film AG, in a statement. Meanwhile, Herbig jokes: “We were all standing at the printer very excited. And when we finally held the script in our hands, we could hardly believe our luck: It’s a comedy!”
