In the United States, an accident involving an Audi e-tron and a Toyota Corolla raises serious concerns about the electric vehicle.
The accident left only two minor injuries, but it was the flight of the Audi e-tron battery that was the problem.

For several long months now, American organizations Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and others National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) continue to demonstrate the very secure side of electric vehicles. However, a recent accident in Richmond shows the Audi e-tron in serious trouble.
Indeed, in a video shared on the site Reddit, the Audi electric vehicle can be seen running through a red light, before colliding with a Toyota Corolla. The German manufacturer’s vehicle rolls a few times, quickly releasing an essential element… its battery.
A big first?
Indeed, on the images, we can see the complete battery of the Audi e-tron which is ejected from the vehicle, before being consumed a few meters from the latter. Fortunately, the driver of the Audi (31) was not seriously injured in the accident, as was the driver of the Toyota, 49.
However, the accident could have created a real drama if the battery had hit a passer-by or another vehicle. Similarly, the police had to block traffic for safety reasons, the fault of a power line fallen to the ground, and the Audi battery fire.
Local police said: To our knowledge, this is the first case of an electric vehicle battery being ejected after a collision. »
Audi has not commented on the accident at this time. For some, it could be a process concocted by Audi engineers during a major collision, while others point to a serious design flaw. And you, in your opinion?
