The Children of Others trailer: Virginie Efira and Roschdy Zem in a moving romance in competition in Venice

After An Easy Girl with Zahia Dehar, and Planetarium with Natalie Portman and Lily-Rose Depp, Rebecca Zlotowski highlights Virginie Efira with her 5th feature, the solar and moving romance Les Enfants des autres. Trailer.

Recently starring in Serge Bozon’s Don Juan, Virginie Efira is expected to star in two French feature films this fall: Revoir Paris by Alice Winocour and Les Enfants des autres by Rebecca Zlotowski.

The latter, of which we have just learned the selection in competition at the Venice Film Festival, unveils its trailer. The story goes like this: Rachel is 40 years old, no children. She loves her life: her high school students, her friends, her exes, her guitar lessons. By falling in love with Ali, she becomes attached to Leila, her 4-year-old daughter. She tucks it in, nurses it, and loves it as her own. But loving other people’s children is a risk worth taking…

Around Virginie Efira, the cast brings together Roschdy Zem, the young Callie Ferreira-Goncalves in her very first film role, and Chiara Mastroianni. In the trailer you can recognize the song Personal message by Françoise Hardy, written by Michel Berger.

Other People’s Children is written and directed by Rebecca Zlotowski. This is the 5th feature film by the filmmaker, who has also recently distinguished herself in the series with Les Sauvages for Canal+. The Children of Others is his new feature film, 3 years after An Easy Girl with Zahia Dehar, selected for the Directors’ Fortnight in 2019. It will be released on September 21.
