(Boursier.com) — Vallourec records a 4th major order as part of the long-term agreement (LTA) signed in 2021 with ExxonMobil Guyana. Under this contract, the group will deliver pipe pipes for ExxonMobil Guyana’s deepwater Whiptail project.

The Whiptail project is located in the Stabroek block, a strategic basin of 26,800 km2 off the continental shelf of Guyana, where several significant discoveries have been made since 2015. The Group will deliver more than 180 km of pipes, some of which are in grade X80 (after the batches previously ordered for the Uaru project). X80 is a differentiated solution developed and certified by Vallourec’s R&D teams. The X80 grade combines high mechanical robustness and resistance to service conditions, making it a valuable element for future developments in deeper waters.

After the orders for the Yellowtail, Gas-to-Energy and Uaru projects, signed as part of the same long-term agreement, this new contract further strengthens Vallourec’s strategic supplier relationship with ExxonMobil Guyana. With this order for Whiptail, Vallourec now has around 700 km of pipes for installation projects offshore Guyana since December 2021.

Vallourec will serve ExxonMobil Guyana from its state-of-the-art factory in Jeceaba (Minas Gerais), which combines large production capacities and high-level skills.
