Before the full line-up, here is an overview of the first new Disney+ releases for December 2023. An ultra-popular saga is back, a Marvel film is arriving, and a cult franchise is in the spotlight.
The new Disney+ features for December 2023 will arrive in a few days. We don’t have the entire list on hand yet, but it won’t be long. In the meantime, around ten additions have already been confirmed and we invite you to discover them. You will note that alongside the upcoming Disney+ releases, the platform has included tips for occupying your winter days and/or evenings with ideal programs for Christmas. Attention fans of John McClane and Kevin McCallister.
Disney+ films for December 2023
The new Disney+ releases for December 2023, in the film category, will begin with an original short film produced by John Travolta. A huge actor who needs no introduction and who will be in the casting of this fiction adapted from the book The Shepherd: A Christmas Tale. “We call a shepherd an aircraft responsible for guiding an aircraft in distress. On this Christmas night in 1957, a young RAF pilot gets lost over the North Sea. Alone, his radio broken, he only has a few minutes of fuel left when a shadow emerges from the fog. A shepherd ! Without hesitation, he follows him and, soon, the markers of an airfield appear while the shepherd disappears… It is only after landing that the pilot will realize that he has just experienced a very strange adventure. » (via Amazon).
A little later on Disney+, there will also be the animated feature film Diary of a Wimpy Kid: A Christmas downright claustrophobic. “The Christmas holidays are going to be particularly stressful for our friend Greg Heffley this year. After accidentally damaging the town’s snowplow with his best friend Robert, Greg fears he’s ruined his chances of receiving the console of his dreams for Christmas. And to make matters worse, an unprecedented snowstorm hits the city and the whole family finds themselves cooped up at home. A few days before Christmas, will Greg manage to keep his act together? ».
But one of the big highlights will be the arrival of Thor Love and Thunder. Yes, the Marvel film got destroyed, because it is in all honesty bad, but if any MCU fans are curious… See you on December 15, 2023. If Thor 5 were to be filmed, you would be at least up to date!

The new Disney+ series for December 2023
On the series side, it hits even harder. Super Christmas: The Series Season 2 with Tim Allen will end on December 6. Throughout the month, Disney+ subscribers will also have the opportunity to dive back into an ultra-cult TV show with special episodes of Doctor Who. There will be four in total, including a special one for the end-of-year holidays. An epic, ultra-popular saga returns in a new episodic format. This is the original Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. “The adventures of a modern 12-year-old demigod, Percy Jackson, who has just accepted his new supernatural powers when the powerful Zeus accuses him of stealing his Lightning Bolt. Percy will have to search for him throughout the United States in order to restore order in Olympus. (official synopsis).
Disney+ also has a treat for Marvel fans with the release of What If…? Season 2. The sequel will arrive on December 20, 2023, with one episode per day. And obviously, the superheroes will have work to do and will encounter serious obstacles because of an unstable multiverse…

New documentaries and shows in December 2023
The big-eared firm has even thought of a gift for the Disney+ documentaries in December 2023. Subscribers will be able to go behind the scenes of the most famous adventurer in the world with “Timeless Heroes Indiana Jones & Harrison”. A documentary that will explain how Harrison Ford got the role, and what it meant for him. His blossoming that made him one of the most beloved actors of all time. And Indiana Jones 5 will even be mentioned, but not sure that this is good news given the film…
