The Constitutional Council validates retirement age 64

The Constitutional Council validated the pension reform on Friday. It will come into force on September 1, 2023 and gradually raise the legal starting age to 64.

The Constitutional Council validated this Friday the pension reform carried out by Emmanuel Macron which must come into force on September 1. This notably provides for raising the legal starting age to 64 years. Without having had the effect of rendering the legislative procedure contrary to the Constitution, the institution emphasizes in its press release that the combined use of the procedures implemented has taken on an unusual character.
