The first pictures of Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West as Princess Diana and Prince Charles in “The Crown” were released.

It was clear exactly a year ago that Elizabeth Debicki (30) and Dominic West (51) would slip into the roles of Princess Diana (1961-1997) and Prince Charles (72) from season five. Now the streaming service Netflix has published the first pictures of the two. They take over the parts of Emma Corrin (25, from season four) and Josh O’Connor (31, from season three).

What both figures have in common in the pictures: Apparently worried, their gaze wanders into the distance. Diana is lying on a couch in the photo, a letter can be seen on her stomach. Charles, on the other hand, stands alone in the open air.

Filming for the fifth season of “The Crown” is slated to start this summer. The new episodes deal with the experiences of the British royal family between 1990 and 1997. In addition to Debicki and West, Imelda Staunton (65) as Queen Elizabeth II (95) and Jonathan Pryce (74) as Prince Philip (1921-2021) are new with one of the party. The sixth and final season then takes a look at the royal history until the early 2000s. The fifth season should start in 2022, an exact date has not yet been set.
