The Crown season 5: Diana, Harry, William, Charles, Camilla… Discover the first images


Friday October 14, 2022, Netflix unveiled new images from season 5 of The Crown. The opportunity to discover the new actors who will play the royal family in the 1990s.

While season 5 of the series The Crown is expected for November 9, 2022, Netflix tried to make fans wait by revealing never-before-seen images new faces of the British monarchy. Indeed, the royal family enters a turbulent period, the 1990s and new actors were chosen for the occasion.

If Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip will be played by Imelda Staunton and Jonathan Price, Princess Diana and Prince Charles will come to life thanks to Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West. On the first images unveiled, we can thus see the prince and the princess of Wales in the company of the young princes William and Harry. The royal family seems to be enjoying a holiday in the sun. A rare moment of happiness before the storm. On other images, we can also see princess Anneplayed by Claudia Harrison or princess Margaretthis time played by Lesley Manville.

The British royal family in turmoil

The new season of The Crown will plunge the royal family into turmoil. Indeed, in the 1990s, the British monarchy lived through complicated times marked by many divorces, including that of Lady Diana with Prince Charles. The mother of princes Harry and William also seems particularly melancholic while Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles appear smiling in the images released by Netflix.

In addition to divorces, the series should also address the relationship between Queen Elizabeth II and her Prime Minister at the time, John Major, the fire at Windsor Castle or even the tragic death of Princess Dianawhich occurred in 1997. Many dramas that promise a season rich in emotion.
