The Dark Souls role-playing game with D&D sauce

While Steamforged Games announced last December the upcoming release of a role-playing game Dark Souls, the company reveals a little more information about the project. It was recently announced in a press release that the board game will use the rules and game system of the 5th edition of Dungeons and Dragons. What could be better than the king of role-playing games as a base?

However, the universe will indeed be that of dark Dark Souls. Steamforged Games has said it wants “keep the unique mechanics of Dark Souls” including “tailor-made character classes, an all-new magic system, and a comprehensive bestiary packed with creatures from Dark Souls.” Although we do not yet know the nature of these classes and monsters in question, we can suspect that the brand will not move away from the world of action-RPG that we know well.

The company is not at its first attempt with the license. She had previously released a board game called Dark Souls: The Board Game.

The board game brand unveiled the book of The Dark Souls: The Roleplaying Game, which details everything players need to know about characters, campaigns, items, and more. A dark but very well illustrated manual that immediately transports players into the magical universe of the license.

The role-playing game will be available for pre-order next February and will come out spring 2022. No exact date yet, but it will be soon.

So if the universe of Dark Souls attracts you and role-playing games fascinate you, this one is for you!

The affected games are Dark Souls: Remastered, Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3, the reasons given are the discovery of a vulnerability in the multiplayer code which can be exploited by an invader in multiplayer in order to execute lines of code on your PC and take control of it.
