A Council of Ministers took place this Wednesday morning, the day after the XXL press conference held by Emmanuel Macron from the Élysée. Gabriel Attal’s government will try to follow the roadmap set by the president: audacity, action and efficiency.

It was a very short Council of Ministers which brought together the members of the government around Emmanuel Macron this Wednesday morning. The president held a major press conference on Tuesday evening during which he launched several major projects that the government is now responsible for implementing in the coming months on school, authority, work and even simplification for businesses.

This meeting, set for prime time, ultimately did not attract as many viewers as expected. A little less than 9 million French people followed the speech of the Head of State, but according to Prisca Thévenot, the new government spokesperson, this press conference still made it possible to answer several questions.

Other initiatives to come as part of the big meeting with the nation?

“I don’t know if it’s a missed opportunity with the nation, in any case, what I see is that there have actually been a certain number of responses provided by the President of the Republic, thanks to the questions that were asked, on important subjects such as school or even health. These are questions that all of our fellow citizens ask themselves. So that is the most important thing and there will be obviously other meetings,” she said this Wednesday.

Prisca Thévenot who did not specify whether the big meeting with the nation promised by Emmanuel Macron in December is limited to the press conference on Tuesday evening or whether other initiatives from the head of the State will fall within this framework over the coming semesters.
