In the Bavarian city lives in 57.3 percent of households only one person. Bavarian cities also follow in second and third place: gain with 53.2 percent and Wurzburg with 52.9 percent.

Among the federal states is Berlin in first place with 52.7 percent of single households. The average number of people per household in Berlin is 1.79. At the other end of the ranking is Baden-Württemberg, where an average of 2.11 people per household live. In the national average, the number of single households rose again and is now 41.8 percent. According to GfK, the trend has been going on for years.
