“The desire left me”: Jean-Pierre Foucault confides as rarely on his absence on television

Invited on Sunday July 31, 2022 on Europe 1, Jean-Pierre Foucault indulged in some confidences concerning his absence on television.

Jean-Pierre Foucault is one of the animators who most marked the French. The Academy of Nine, Sacred Evening, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire… So many programs that rocked the evenings of viewers. But for a few years now, the presenter of TF1 has been increasingly rare on the sets. It retains a few programs, such as the presentation of the annual ceremony of the Miss France competition or the Loto draw, but these are indeed the only shows in which viewers can see him. “I practically stopped television, I have the Miss and the French games, but the desire left me”, he admits to Didier Barbelivien in Tell me what you sing on Europe 1, this Sunday, July 31, 2022.

Jean-Pierre Foucault then confides in this absence from television : “Life is good. When I watch TV, I don’t say to myself ‘oh I want to be there'”. A deep lack of interest that does not make the presenter unhappy: “I am happy as I am.” The former presenter Who Wants to Be a Millionaire wishes to take advantage of his peaceful daily life, he who had been greatly affected by the death of his friend, Jean-Pierre Pernaut. Indeed, the two acolytes liked to meet at the animation of the ceremony of Miss France.

Jean-Pierre Foucault has lost a friend

So on March 2, when Nathalie Marquay’s husband dies, sadness and grief invade the host: “We are associated so much that since his death, I have not stopped receiving messages, text messages of sympathy and condolences. It’s true, we were from the same family”. A disappearance that took a toll on the morale of the presenter, which will most certainly be at the long-awaited meeting of the French: the election of Miss France 2023.
