While the last episodes of their hit series, Stranger Things, have just been broadcast, the Duffer brothers’ next projects in collaboration with Netflix have been revealed.
It’s been several years since the infamous live-action adaptation of Death Note was released on Netflix, a film that everyone prefers to forget.
During the broadcast of this film directed by Adam Wingard, Netflix was treated to a real outcry from manga and anime fans, who were furious to see the work of Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata being so tainted.
One would have thought that such an outcry would have definitely discouraged the SVOD platform, but it is not so. While season 4 of Stanger Things has just ended in style, exceeding one billion hours of viewing, Netflix has revealed that they intend to put the cover back.
The Duffer brothers (Stranger Things) have created Upside Down Pictures, a new production company through which they will develop film and series projects with Netflix!

A risky bet for the Duffer brothers
Unsurprisingly, this news has sown doubt among manga fans. While the animated adaptation of Madhouse has been widely embraced, when it comes to films and the series that followed, that’s another story…

The participation of Matt and Ross Duffer in this project through their brand new production company, Upside Down Pictures, has reassured more than one unfortunately for the time being, we still do not know what their involvement will be.
The good news is that this new adaptation would have nothing to do with that of 2017, it’s still taken!
For the time being, the Duffer brothers have not released any information on this perilous project, contenting themselves with giving a first glimpse of what awaits fans in season 5 of Stranger Things. We’ll have to be patient before they lift the veil on what they’re up to.
Anyway, still the adaptation of the novel The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub, the adaptation of Death Note, the spin-off and the theater play of Stranger Things, and the mysterious series in collaboration with the creators of Dark Crystal, their production company has their work cut out for them.
