PARIS, January 18 (Reuters) – The EDF inter-union
EDF.PA calls for a strike on January 26 to protest against the “looting” of the public group, after the government’s decision to force EDF to sell more nuclear electricity at low prices to its competitors, can we read in a press release issued Tuesday by FO-Energie et Mines.
The executive announced last Thursday that, to limit the increase in regulated electricity tariffs (TRV) to 4% on February 1, it would increase from 100 to 120 terawatt-hours (TWh) the volumes that EDF must cede to its competitors within the framework of the Arenh system (regulated access to historical nuclear electricity), a measure likely to have an impact of 7.7 to 8.4 billion euros on the group’s results. nL8N2TX43R

In its press release, FO-Energie et Mines considers that “the government confirms its hostility to the public electricity service and to the company, EDF, which embodies it”, “by making this choice to help the competitors of EDF instead of calling into question the competition”.
He also denounces “political issues in the context of the next presidential campaign”.
“Anger is brewing and resistance is getting organized to make the government listen to reason and fight this headlong rush,” adds the union, calling for support for all the joint actions of the inter-union, including the work stoppage of January 26.
