The eLigue 1 Open is back. While EA Sports has its official FIFA license for the last year, with its FIFA 23, the French football championship is teaming up with the American developer for an additional season. A few weeks before the launch of the new virtual football season, the competition is renamed “eLigue1 Open by Uber Eats”, a new way to signify that it is indeed the official tournament of the real football season in France.
Organized by the LFP, the Open is the online amateur championship, on FIFA, which is played in 95 mode with clubs and players from Ligue 1 Uber Eats.
This competition is organized by the LFP for each Ligue 1 club Uber Eats and for their supporters who wish to represent their favorite club, win club prizes and enjoy privileged club experiences.
This tournament open to all marks its big comeback with a name change, the eLigue 1 Open becomes eLigue 1 Open by Uber Eatsand by a logotype color change, going from green to raspberry. An evolution of its design which allows it to stand out from the eLigue 1 Uber Eats, reserved for professional players.
The competition will be divided into two phases, the club tournaments and then the national playoffs. Pre-registrations are now open. Once the registration period is over, the kick-off of the new season will be given on January 2, 2023 with the 20 club tournaments until February 13. Each club tournament is made up of two cups: a cup for Old Generation consoles (Xbox One and PS4) and a cup for Next Generation consoles (Xbox Serie S and PS5). Players of the same console generation will be able to compete against each other.
The 40 winners of each club cup (two per cup, one old-gen, one new-gen) will meet from February 14 to March 1, 2023 for the national playoffs!
The grand finale will take place March 1, 2023live on the channel Ligue 1 Twitch Uber Eats.
Participants will win gifts from the round of 16 of their club cup: jerseys, match tickets, balls, goodies… At the end of the national final, the two national winners (one on Old Generation consoles and one on Next Generation) will be offered several rewards to share: 1000 euros cash prize, two PS5s, an evening in the backstage of eLigue 1 Uber Eats and a qualifying place for the eLigue 1 Challenge 2023.
