A new launch date has just been announced for a Graphic card which is clearly not intended for an audience of gamers.
A time expected for today, the release of the GeForce GTX 1630 should finally take place on June 15, according to information obtained by our colleagues from VideoCardz.
Less powerful than a GTX 1050 Ti?
Based on the aging Turing architecture, this GeForce GTX 1630 should not upset the hierarchy that we know today. Nevertheless, it must allow NVIDIA to offer a very affordable graphics solution on a strictly financial level.
It incorporates a TU117-150 GPU with only 512 CUDA cores, which makes it a significantly less powerful solution than the GTX 1650 and its 896 cores. To make matters worse, the GTX 1630 will have to make do with a 64-bit memory bus.
In fact, despite the use of 4 GB of GDDR6 at 12 Gbps, the card will benefit from a bandwidth of only 96 GB/s. This performance places it under the old Pascal-generation GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. A card that, like the GTX 1650, will be significantly more powerful than the GTX 1630.
Through the table above, our colleagues from VideoCardz give an eloquent 3DMark test figure: the GTX 1630 will not be a racing beast. It remains to know its price, now.
