European stock markets ended higher on Thursday after a difficult first few sessions in 2024, with interest rates continuing to rise as investors’ bets on central bank policy over the coming year are revised.
London gained 0.53%, Paris 0.52% and Frankfurt 0.48% after falling significantly the day before. On the bond market, interest rates in European states continued their upward trend that began in the last week of 2023.
