The exceptional premium for caregivers in force

Hospital staff and nursing homes will receive a payment of the exceptional bonus which takes effect this Sunday, June 14, to reward their work during the health crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Covid premium, promised by the government, will be between 1,000 and 1,500 euros depending on the department. Released yesterday at Official newspaper, it comes into force this Sunday, June 14, 2020. It will be paid to caregivers who worked between April 1 and April 30 and will be exempt from all social security contributions, as well as income tax. The premium starts at 1,000 euros but may reach 1,500 euros in the departments most affected by Covid-19, especially those in the Grand-Est region, Corsica and those of Ile-de-France.

The government had announced the implementation of this exceptional tax-free bonus on May 7, a few days before the start of deconfinement. A bonus that does not appease anger

If this exceptional bonus comes into force today, the unions and hospital collectives call on caregivers and users to mobilize on Tuesday, June 16, so that the government "take into account all of their demands "." "The population applauded the hospital workers, but also understood the urgency of satisfying the demands expressed by them. The organizations request in particular the general revaluation of salaries as well as the recognition of the qualifications of health professionals, the strengthening of significant financial resources for establishments, a multidisciplinary training plan, a staff recruitment plan as well as measures guaranteeing access, proximity and equality of care for the population throughout the territory.
