It has now been four years since she denounced, in May 2019, to the labor inspectorate, with four other colleagues, the actions of “ her MP (La République en Marche, LRM), Pierre Cabaré, elected in 2017 in the 1D constituency of Haute-Garonne.
The accusations of the young forties are then the most serious. Lucie Schmitz delivers the story of a litany of hands with suffered buttocks. First, on several occasions, on the sidelines of the wedding of the deputy’s son, in the Arcachon basin (Gironde), at the end of July 2017. Then a few months later, on December 16, during a birthday party of the chosen one. But also in April and August 2018, during meetings in a bar in Blagnac (Haute-Gaonne), in the Toulouse suburbs, where she lives.
Each time, she claims to mark her disapproval, but nothing helps. To the gestures would have been added the salacious remarks of the deputy. One day, he would have said to her: “Do you like to suck? » Another, he would have asked her if she is “vaginal or clitoral”. Grigori Michel and Bruno Amet, then assistants to Pierre Cabaré, present in Arcachon at the wedding, saw certain alleged sexual assaults by the deputy. They say they have often heard him call their colleague “bitch” that he was going ” kiss “. From February 8, 2019, Lucie Schmitz is on sick leave. A few weeks later, the one who employed her one day a week fired her. Reasons invoked: a “failure to [son] obligation of contractual loyalty” and an “professional incompetence”.
A letter left unanswered
On May 20, 2019, the five parliamentary collaborators sent a letter to Richard Ferrand, then President (LRM) of the National Assembly, to Gilles Le Gendre, boss of the LRM deputies, and to Stanislas Guerini, general delegate of the movement, to alert them . The authors of the letter share their “great dismay”, evoke “unacceptable and repeated acts” of the chosen one, and “very serious facts” of sexual and moral harassment concerning Lucie Schmitz.
Their missive will go unanswered. It was not until September 2019, when the press echoed the affair, that Pierre Cabaré resigned from his post as vice-president of the delegation for women’s rights in the National Assembly – while remaining MP LRM. In the meantime, the judicial machine gets under way after a report from the labor inspectorate. On August 6, 2019, Lucie Schmitz was summoned by the judicial police in Toulouse. He is offered to file a complaint, she accepts.
