Reputable leaker Ice Universe has just released new information about the Galaxy Z Flip 5. According to the insider, Samsung’s next folding smartphone will feature a secondary display of a size never seen before. For good reason, it should occupy the entire rear face!
As you may know, Samsung has yet to formalize the existence of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. However, the revelations about him have been linked in recent weeks. The reputable leaker Ice Universe has notably published a lot of information about the brand’s next folding smartphone.
A few days ago, the insider first said on Twitter that the Z Flip 5 would ship the largest external on the market. According to its sources, the secondary panel of the device would be much larger than what the competition offers, the Find N2 Flip from Oppo in mind. In other words, the secondary screen of the Z Flip 5 would be over 3.26 inches. But that’s not all since Ice Universe returned to the charge with additional information this Wednesday, February 22, 2023.

Also on Twitter, the leaker claims to have obtained other details on the external screen of the folding smartphone. If we are to believe his statements, Samsung intends to explode all the counters with this secondary panel. Because, it should occupy almost the entire rear face of the device!
“The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is very likely to adopt this design. My research continues”, he writes on the blue bird. To support his point, the insider published a concept of the Z Flip 5. What to give an idea of the look of the device, with this gigantic external screen.

The size of the cover screens, the next workhorse for manufacturers?
Note that Samsung doesn’t seem to be alone in wanting to multiply the size of the cover screen. According to leaker Evan Blass, Motorola is also following this lead for its next Razr. Indeed, the insider recently shared renders of an unknown device where almost the entire rear panel of the smartphone is covered by a secondary screen.
While Evan Blass doesn’t specifically name the device, the photos used are from a recent article published by The Tech Outlook and dedicated to the 2023 Motorola Razr. the next workhorse of Flip-type folding smartphone manufacturers.
In any case, with diagonals that can reach 3.5 inches, it is rather amusing to note that the secondary screens of future folding smartphones will have the same size as the main panel of the very first iPhone (even if the aspect ratio is different of course).
