After "WandaVision", the next Marvel series is "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier". This offers more classic superhero action.

With the Marvel series "WandaVision", Disney recently achieved a coup in addition to the Disney + streaming service. The series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" is certainly hoping for a comparable success from March 19th, which will, however, serve the viewers much more classic, i.e. action-packed, superhero food. Here is all the TV information about the unequal duo Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie, 42) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan, 38) – and an important recommendation for before that.

Big footsteps – that's what it's all about (attention, spoilers!)

The series begins after the events of the blockbuster "Avengers: Endgame". Steve Rogers (Chris Evans, 39) has given up his alter ego Captain America and left the superhero shield to his good friend Sam Wilson aka Falcon. Together with Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier) he forms the new duo Infernale of the Avengers, which soon have to face an old threat. This has already managed to send the hero troops into civil war and almost destroyed them: Terrorist Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl, 42) is back!

As a reminder: Who was Helmut Zemo again?

With Zemo, a multi-layered and down-to-earth opponent is celebrating its comeback. The mastermind does not have any superpowers and has harbored a deep-seated hatred of the Avengers since the events of "Avengers: Age of Ultron", in which his entire family was killed. His conviction, which he does not let shake: Superheroes are a cure that is worse than the disease and must disappear from the face of the earth.

Zemo is a wonderful example of why Disney + introduced the Legends format. Anyone who gradually gets confused with the biographies of the characters after the countless solo and "Avengers" films can view short videos of their previous careers and views on the respective characters under "Legends".

They already existed for Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen, 32) and Vision (Paul Bettany, 49) at the start of "WandaVision". "Highlight videos" were edited for the individual characters of "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier". In addition to the two title characters, also for Zemo and the female lead Sharon Carter, played by Emily VanCamp (34).

A new Captain America?

Like the series villain, the other side also represents relatively "realistic" heroes – if you compare them with Thor or Hulk, for example. Both the Falcon and the Winter Soldier owe their skills largely to technical gadgets, be it mechanical wings or an artificial arm. Nevertheless, with a completely newly introduced character, a superman will be seen again: Actor Wyatt Russell (34, "22 Jump Street") slips into the role of John Walker alias US Agent – like Captain America 2.0, blessed in the comic version with an already pathological patriotism and even more power as a "cap". The boundaries between good and bad could continue to blur here.

Despite the serious intentions of Helmut Zemo, "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier", as the previews already indicated, will use the tried and tested Marvel formula of action and humor. Main actor Sebastian Stan himself had said in advance that the title duo would also fit wonderfully into a buddy comedy from the 80s or 90s. "Tango and Cash" or "Lethal Weapon" in the superhero cosmos? Bring it on!
