Induction hobs have largely taken over our kitchens because of their many qualities; responsiveness, safety and ease of cleaning. For several years now, this type of cooking appliance has been paired with extractor hoods. This duo has many advantages, such as the automatic adaptation of the suction power to the power level of the inductors, or the downward suction, which prevents the cook from getting smoke and vapors in the eyes.
It is therefore not surprising to see Falmec, an Italian specialist in extractor hoods, making a lasting presence in this market. Indeed, after the Sintesi, the manufacturer presents the Zero, a model with a total power of 7400 watts equipped with four burners. Please note, the lucky owner of the Zero only has nine levels to vary the temperature within the utensils: if this is more than enough for daily use, the most demanding chefs will perhaps regret this lack of choice . Let us also point out that, as is the case on the vast majority of induction hobs, two burners (those on the left here) can be combined to form a single, large cooking zone suitable for accommodating containers. large or unusually shaped, like a fishmonger.
On the suction side, the Zero can be installed in recycling or evacuation mode, and it is capable of treating an air volume of 600 m³/h if we rely on the technical sheet, which means that it will be able to suction and filter the air in a kitchen of 24 m² maximum. Another important fact is that the sound level then reaches 65 dB(A); the hood therefore knows how to make itself heard, even if many models are much noisier. Four levels of suction power have been provided for manual use. Obviously, an auto mode which adapts the suction capacities according to the power of the fireplaces is included. Falmec has provided grid filters to capture grease and carbon filters to retain odors. But that’s not all, since zeolite is added to this duo to capture humidity; in fact, this volcanic rock has the particularity of releasing heat when it is charged with humidity.
