Nintendo may be about to make a big announcement regarding Metroid Prime 4. Is development over soon? This is what we seem to understand.
There are many video game players in Arles, like Half-Life 3 or… Metroid Prime 4. The latter was unveiled during E3 2017, but since then, there has been almost no news about it. We don’t know where the development is, if it has been temporarily stopped, if it is doing well, in short, it’s a total blur. However, we have just been informed that the game will probably soon make a big announcement. Is the big surprise approaching?
Development of Metroid Prime 4 almost finished?
Last November, we noted that Nintendo had included Metroid Prime 4 in its future release schedule. Of course, there was no release date to note, and even its name was marked “Temporary”. On the other hand, it meant that its development was indeed continuing, and that it was still part of the firm’s schedule. That said, we didn’t really learn much more. However, according to the YouTuber SuperMetalDave64, Retro Studios has started the final phase of the project. Just that.
Before getting carried away, it’s important to look at the evidence. Our man seems to have made some discoveries. Obviously, 10 months ago, Big N set up quality tests to find bugs in a demo of Metroid Prime 4. If he claims this, it is due to the CV of a certain Edwin Atwell, a contract worker who also offered his services for the Call of Duty franchise. But that’s not all. He discovered a partnership between Retro Studios and Next-Gen Dreams 3D, a co-developer of Hire Studio who has a great specialty: crafting creative and complex first trailers for various companies.
Among the companies that have used the Next-Gen Dreams 3D service, we find Take-Two Interactive, THQ Nordic, Xbox Game Studios, Arkane, and more recently, Retro Studios. The clues are therefore starting to accumulate, even if you have to take all this information with a grain of salt. It is better to wait for confirmation from Nintendo before declaring victory. Plus, even if we end up getting a trailer, a release date isn’t necessarily guaranteed. However, it is clear that Metroid Prime 4 appears to be in a rather advanced state. To be continued.
