The Marvel catalog is still full of projects and within it we can notably discover The Marvels which has just unveiled a trailer.
The wait seems to be quite limited for this film but Disney and Marvel have just unveiled a trailer for The Marvels. And the least we can say is that the reaction of the public is quite mixed. Between the excitement of seeing the cult character of Carol again and the screenplay disappointment that seems to be taking shape through the trailer. A serious lack of epic? We are obviously waiting to see the full film.
A phase 5 that lacks breath
For the moment phase 5 of the MCU lacks a bit of breath, it must be said that it is quite difficult to convince with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniaonly Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and the talent of James Gunn (his last for the MCU) could have brought a jolt of happiness. What about The Marvels which does not seem to particularly convince many people at the present time? The costumes lack a little finesse despite the big better compared to the promotional photos and it seems quite difficult to attract people with Miss Marvel since the series on the character was a failure on Disney + (all things considered with the big productions of the American company). Finally, beyond Carol, only the character of Monica Rambeau brings a bit of freshness to an MCU that has tended to go around in circles for some time. Moreover, it is Bob Iger himself (CEO) who explains that the excess of series harms the public’s interest in Marvel.
What is The Marvels?
The film takes place after the events of Captain Marvel, Wanda Vision And Miss Marvel. In this timeline Carol Danvers, Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau swap places every time they try to use their powers and must come together to figure out why. As for the main antagonists, the trio will have to face Dar-Benn, the new leader of the Kree empire. This is probably also why the film seems to arouse less interest. In effect, The Marvels does not capitalize on the appearance (even mysterious) of a charismatic super-villain and it could be problematic. Obviously in the lot we also find enthusiastic fans, especially at the idea of reviewing Captain Marvel on the front of the stage, but it is nonetheless a film that divides, far from being unanimous like a certain Deadpool 3. For the record, it is scheduled for November 10, 2023.
