The 32-year-old, mother of 4 children, had agreed to confide in “Seven to Eight” on the harassment she suffered online. It was since the break with her ex-husband and father of the children that the insults had started, especially on Twitter, the former fans of the couple each taking sides for one of the two. Threatened with death, called all names, she had chosen not to mention her separation, trying to make people forget the accusations that her ex brought against her. But “to ignore, for some people is to validate,” she lamented to the TF1 show.
Over the months, the hatred has only increased, to the point that it sometimes receives up to 1000 messages a day. The young woman who had also participated in the program “We exchanged our moms” had even been the victim of Internet users who had started to spy on her at home, or to call her children’s school, reported “Le Parisien ”, last March. “The Internet is indelible. It will not erase these comments, “she told” Seven to Eight “, adding to be on anti-depressants. She explained that she attempted suicide several times, showing a large mark on her arm in front of the camera. “I came to want to stop living,” she explained during the interview. “We actually give up, if I’m a freak, then I’m going,” she added. She said she tried to call for help, filed complaints, “but nobody cares.”

It was after a final telephone dispute with his former companion, Adrien, that Mavachou allegedly committed suicide. The magazine of the first channel indicates that between March 2020 and December 2021, the mother of the family filed 5 complaints against him. In vain. “She had the impression that she would never be believed,” commented her psychologist, who himself wrote a letter to the prosecutor to alert him to the situation and the harassment which did not cease.
If a judicial investigation has been opened against Adrien for harassment and provocation to suicide, Maëva’s lawyer, who now represents his new companion, also wants the responsibility of Internet users to be recognized. “People need to understand that this cowardice behind their screen is a slap every time, a punch every time,” he said. Comments shared by Mavachou at the time of his meeting with TF1: “How can we not put ourselves in people’s shoes, how can we participate in that? For me it is unthinkable. I would like there to be an example, and this example will be my ex-husband so that all those who revolve around them say to themselves “we have exceeded the limits” and that they have an awareness. Adrien, he defends himself and denies his responsibility, claiming to have tried to call his community to calm. In a video posted on his channel at the end of December, he explained that he too was the victim of social networks and harassment, since his break up with the mother of his children. “I will never let this kind of behavior pass again”, he says, denouncing the “vigilantes of social networks” who accuse him of being “a murderer”. “Your words will not be without consequence,” he continues facing the camera before reading a series of messages received since the tragedy.
