The Finals: an open beta launched, here are the dates and content

Embark Studios currently developing The Finals, a new competitive first-person shooter free-to-play, expected on computers and home consoles. The title is still needed, but curious players will be able to try it through an open beta.

The Finals open beta takes place from October 26 to November 5 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the developers specify that this is a testing phase to check the improvements and changes made since the betas on PC, while ensuring the stability of the servers with a maximum of players. It is also an opportunity to get feedback on the gameplay on consoles with a controller. But, content-wise, Embark Studios was generous, here’s what awaits the players :

The Finals is an ultimate fight show style game where the player and his team fight for glory, wealth and favors from generous seasonal sponsors, in hyper-realistic and fully destructible virtual arenasinspired by iconic places in the real world.

This open beta introduces the whole new Skyway Stadium arena in the rotation of the cards, as well as a whole new game mode : Bank-It. Also, the beta includes a free BattlePass with 16 exclusive and permanent rewards which players can unlock and keep until the official launch of the game. This beta is cross play And progress will be kept in your account whether you are on PC or consoles.

Iconic arenas :

  • New Skyway Stadium — Experience the ever-changing Skyway Stadium, where players can test their limits on this perilous playing field.
  • Monaco – Play on the cobbled streets of Monaco, a perfect map for destruction and close-quarters combat.
  • Seoul – Battle atop the skyscrapers of downtown Seoul with fast-paced, vertical gameplay. Be careful where you step so you don’t fall.

New game mode and updates :

  • New Bank-It — Four teams of three people compete for coins in this casual, combat-centric mode. The team that reaches the maximum limit first, or the team that has the most money in the bank at the end of the round, wins.
  • Unranked Tournament — A Cashout mode in which four teams of three players compete to find crates and deposit them into chests, in a three-round unranked tournament format with a total of 24 players.
  • Ranked Tournament — A Cashout mode with four teams of three in a ranked tournament format with four rounds and 48 players total.
  • Quick Cash — A casual variant of Cashout in 3v3v3 format. This mode features longer matches, faster respawn times, shorter fetch times, and only one vault at a time.
  • Training Grounds — A place where candidates can test weapons, gadgets, moves, and of course, destroy everything.

Candidate progress :

  • The free Open Beta BattlePass will include 16 exclusive rewards that, if unlocked, will carry over into the full game when it launches.
  • Item progression will include 5 levels of mastery per weapon.

League progression :

  • Five leagues (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond) will include permanent rewards for each tier, as well as an exclusive legendary weapon skin for participants who reach Diamond tier.

Even more content :

  • The Open Beta will bring 20 weapons, 26 gadgets, and 9 abilities to competitors, as well as improvements to performance, movement, team play, and more.
