The First World War continues in Isonzo

After Verdun released in 2015 and Tannenberg released in 2019, the studio Blackmill Games is embarking on a third game based on the First World War, isonzo. Expected on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series, the game published by M2H should see the light of day in early 2022.

Isonzo is an FPS which takes its name from an eponymous river whose course crosses the west of Slovenia as well as the north-east of Italy. It is therefore quite natural that the action takes place in this geographical area. After France in the first opus and East Prussia in the second, direction the mountains, the valleys and the small villages of northern Italy.

With a great desire for authenticity, Blackmill Games is inspired by the two years of fierce fighting – more than a dozen battles – for control of the Isonzo river valley and the surrounding Alps between 1915 and 1917. Don’t stop at the field, since you can also find period uniforms and weapons. Enough to completely immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the conflict.

Battles in ruined cities or attacks on mountain fortifications, the challenges should be varied. The arsenal of weapons promises to be quite substantial. Mortars, artillery, bayonets or air support and poison gas. Many solutions will be available to you to neutralize the enemy. Finally, Isonzo will feature a new offensive game mode that puts you right in the heart of historical events, with a focus on the tactical challenges of alpine warfare.
