On the stair machine, she knows that she is being seen and does not hesitate to play with it, arching her back to draw the eye towards her delirious fall of the back. Sitting on a machine to strengthen her glutes, between two repetitions of movements, she takes a photo of herself in a lascivious position, then she posts it with the mention “No pain no gain” (“no suffering, no victory”) or even with the time at which she exercises. On TikTok, #fitgirl already has more than 15.8 billion views. They all want to match the beauty standards of the moment: a muscular rear end, with thin thighs and a flat stomach. An impossible equation?

Maybe. In any case, the influencers fitgirls have clearly understood what the fairer sex was hoping for. To meet these expectations, some headliners are launching their programs and applications. As of 2014, with the Top Body Challenge program, Sonia Tlev claims that you can sculpt your body in twelve weeks. Now, some are creating their own empire, like TrainSweatEat, by the French couple Sissy Mua and Fitwini. And who are the best ambassadors? Members of the influencer’s community, who recount her “glow-up” (her aesthetic upgrade) before and after with pride.

The problem ? Several fitgirls sell the promise of obtaining the same body as them, sometimes forgetting to specify that, to keep legs as thin while having a big behind, they resorted to injections, or even implants. They also follow the new body standards fluctuating approximately every ten years and contribute to it: after having valued fairly muscular and generous silhouettes, thinness is now back. On YouTube, sports priestesses Sissy Mua and Karoline Ro already appear emaciated, like the Kardashian clan, who have been setting the scene for several years now. Could the female body be renewed as quickly as a Zara collection? After “fast fashion”, the era of “fast body” ?
