From party girl to CIA agent: Kaley Cuoco can be seen on Amazon Prime Video from July 29 in the new season of “The Flight Attendant”.

Alcohol, affairs and adventures all over the world: This is how viewers met the flight attendant Cassie Bowden, played by Kaley Cuoco (36), in the first season of the HBO Max series “The Flight Attendant” on Amazon Prime Video. Things have changed for season two as Cassie has turned her life around. The new episodes shouldn’t be any less exciting.

“A Little Side Job”

Her episodes as a party girl were not the focus of the first season – but this nightmare that Cassie is trying to unravel. She ends up in bed with a businessman who never gets out of bed alive. Not only viewers, but also Cassie wondered: What happened? And who killed him? Despite the help of her friend and lawyer Annie (Zosia Mamet, 34), she was targeted by the investigators. She tried to find out on her own who was behind the crime.

About a year later, Cassie moved to Los Angeles, she is dating this “great guy” Marco (Santiago Cabrera, 44) and she has also sworn off alcohol. Her chaotic life doesn’t get any quieter, because she has “taken a small part-time job”, as revealed in a trailer. The flight attendant gathers information for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the United States’ foreign intelligence agency.

Someone stole her identity. A doppelganger tries to frame Cassie, as her friend Annie discovers. And then her colleague Megan Briscoe (Rosie Perez, 57), who has been on the run for a year after being involved in a spy drama, gives a sign of life. With all this turmoil, Cassie hints that maybe it would only take one “tiny accident” before she has a “complete breakdown.”

The episodes were filmed in Los Angeles, Berlin and Reykjavik, Iceland. In addition to popular characters like Annie and Megan, there are also new actors on board. Sharon Stone (64) appears as Cassie’s mother.

“Is that a damn joke?”

The series recently helped Cuoco, known from “The Big Bang Theory”, in particular to climb. In 2021 she was nominated for an Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress. She is currently hoping for an Emmy for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. Whether they are against their colleagues Rachel Brosnahan (32, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), Quinta Brunson (32, “Abbott Elementary”), Elle Fanning (24, “The Great”), Issa Rae (37, “Insecure” ) and Jean Smart (70, “Hacks”) can claim will be decided on September 12th.

Like Cassie in many situations in the second season, leading actress Cuoco initially had her concerns. “I will not lie. After the success of the first season, I was very afraid to do a second season”, she explains in a video clip published by HBO Max on YouTube, which gives a glimpse behind the scenes. She just wanted to be a part of it if you could raise it “better and bigger.” So when she found out what the story would be about, she thought, “Is this a fucking joke? How are we going to do that?” How the team behind Cuoco then implemented the whole thing can be seen from July 29 in the eight episodes of the second season on Amazon Prime Video.
