The folding iPhone could be equipped with an E-ink screen

According to an Apple product analyst, future generations ofiPhone folding could be equipped with an E-ink screen.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is looking at the display technology commonly used by e-readers. Still according to him, this type of screen could represent a perfect candidate to equip folding iPhones.

An E-ink screen to optimize the autonomy of a folding iPhone?

Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known product analyst in Apple’s ecosystem, spoke on Twitter today about the E-ink display technology. The man advances as well as the Cupertino company is currently conducting tests vis-à-vis this type of display.

Also known asElectronic Paper Display (EPD), this technology is now mainly used in the consumer sector to equip e-readers. On the latter, the visual rendering of the display is closer to paper and offers more optimal reading comfort than a conventional screen.

As part of the iPhone, Ming-Chi Kuo argues in his tweet that an EPD color screen would have the potential to equip a folding iPhone. Indeed, the very low energy consumption of this type of device lends itself perfectly to this, particularly in terms of optimizing the autonomy of the device.
