The Ford Transit Custom will go 100% electric in 2024

The E-Transit Custom is an entirely new vehicle designed with rebalanced proportions; it has a statutory look and has full LED lighting. Longer and lower than the current Transit Custom, it has wider rear doors and side openings. The E-Transit Custom is designed to become a new benchmark in the one-tonne van segment in Europe.

The 100% electric architecture of the E-Transit Custom will make it possible to offer a targeted range of up to 380 km, fast charging and full towing capacity. The E-Transit Custom will also use sophisticated connectivity to improve the productivity of its users. This connectivity will be provided through a serial modem on all utilities. A first level of service is provided by Ford Telematics essentials which is free.

To exploit it to the best of its possibilities, Ford Pro is launching a series of solutions for companies: an ecosystem that will provide services relating to operation, charging and financing. By being able to track each vehicle, the operator will be able to achieve the lowest possible downtime and improve productivity.

By 2024, three other new 100% electric vehicles will join the commercial vehicle range: Ford Transit Courier, Tourneo Custom and Tourneo Courier. The 100% electric E-Transit Custom will go into production in the second half of 2023 at Ford’s Kocaeli plant in Turkey.
