The Galaxy S24 FE is reportedly in the pipeline, but Samsung is taking its time

While the Galaxy A35 and A55 compete for the place of best value for money in 2024, the Galaxy S24 FE, Samsung’s next affordable version, is already making waves. Contrary to previous rumors which suggested a summer release, new information indicates a fairly distant release of this new Fan Edition.

Samsung has set a precedent with its FE-branded models, offering an accessible alternative to high-end versions. The Galaxy S24 FE would be the next in this line, following in the footsteps of the Galaxy S23 FE presented in October 2023 and released in December in France.

According to information relayed by the Galaxy Club website, the Galaxy S24 FE would indeed be on the South Korean giant’s program. A device with a code name reminiscent of the S20 FE, S21 FE, and S23 FE, named in their time R8, R9, and R11, has appeared among the future products in development.

Currently called R12, this should not see the light of day before the end of autumn at best. This prolonged wait could be explained by Samsung’s desire to initially launch its folding models, undoubtedly during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, of which the brand is a partner.

Previous generations had followed a similar schedule, with launches typically scheduled between September and January. The Galaxy S24 FE would be no exception to this rule, joining the Fan Edition range late in the year, or even early 2025.

Regarding the technical sheet, the Galaxy S24 FE still retains an element of mystery. It can be expected to feature improvements over its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 FE, but precise details remain unknown. As for the price, Samsung could maintain a pricing policy similar to that of its previous FE models. The Galaxy S23 FE was priced from €699 at launch, and its successor is expected to be in the same price range, providing a more affordable alternative to the flagship Galaxy S24 series models.
