Samsung is preparing to unveil a new series of connected watches, the Galaxy Watch 6. Before their launch, we already know what they will look like, thanks to a host of official images.
At the end of July, Samsung will unveil two new foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, but also new tablets, the Galaxy Tab S9, S9+ and S9 Ultra. However, the Korean giant is also planning to launch a whole new series of watches the Galaxy Watch 6.
These will be a direct successor to the current Galaxy Watch 5s, but will instead follow the same strategy as the previous Galaxy Watch 4s. Indeed, rather than a Galaxy Watch 6 and a Galaxy Watch 6 Pro, Samsung will replace this latest model with a “Classic” version. This generation therefore marks the return of the rotary dial, as on the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.

The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic relies on its legendary rotary dial
According to the images shared by leaker Roland Quandt, but also by Evan Blass, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will look a lot like the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. We will find two different sizes: 43 mm and 47 mm. It will then be the largest Galaxy Watch ever released by Samsung.
The rotary dial looks slightly thinner than the previous generation, which will likely allow Samsung to use larger screens. The larger size will also lead to the use of a battery with larger capacitybut we do not know the details of the data sheet at this time.
What is certain is that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will be marketed in two colors: black and silver. The straps look very similar to the previous generation, so no changes are expected there.
The Galaxy Watch 6 benefits from a larger screen
As for the Galaxy Watch 6, Samsung is also preparing two different sizes: 40 mm and 44 mm. However, the watch is entitled to more different colors than the Classic version. In total, 3 colors have been unveiled: black, cream and grey.
The big novelty of this generation is probably the shrinking black borders all around the slab, which will allow Samsung use larger screens. We do not know exactly the size of these new panels, but we will obviously keep you informed as soon as we know more.
The good news is that these screens will likely be protected by sapphire crystal, which will make them very resistant to shocks and scratches. WinFutre also announces a 5ATM water resistancewhich means you can dive up to 50 meters deep for a duration of 10 minutes.
The Galaxy Watch 6 will benefit from a new Exynos processor
While Samsung has been rather cautious in recent years when it comes to the chip used in its smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 6 and 6 Classic are expected to use an all-new processor. It would be an Exynos W930 SoCwhich would replace the Exynos W920 used on the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5.
Various reports announced a performance increase of around 10% only, so it could just be a chip with higher frequencies or finer etching. The Galaxy Watch 6 should therefore be slower than the next Pixel Watch 2, expected in the fall, which should use a Snapdragon W5 + chip from Qualcomm.
Obviously, the Galaxy Watch 6 will be compatible Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3, and a model LTE will be available as an option. It now remains to know the precise technical sheet of the watches, and especially their prices. Samsung had increased the prices of the Galaxy S23 at the beginning of the year, and it is not impossible that the watches are also victims of the increases.
