Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI, the highly anticipated sequel to the best-selling GTA V, may not hit shelves until late 2025, according to a new report from Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games .
Take-Two revealed the first trailer for GTA 6 a few months ago and confirmed that the game is expected to launch in 2025. However, it did not specify the release date during that year. Based on Take-Two’s previous financial outlook, which projected revenue of $8 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2025.
Many fans then assumed that GTA 6 would launch in the first quarter of that year, as it would be a major sales driver. However, a new report suggests thathe Take-Two has lowered its revenue forecast for the coming fiscal year, which could indicate that GTA 6 is being pushed back internally.
Rockstar is now targeting the end of 2025 for GTA 6
Take-Two recently revised its financial outlook and now forecasts only $7 billion in revenue for the same fiscal year. This could mean that the launch of GTA 6 is no longer planned for the first quarter of 2025, and that it could be postponed to a later date.
Obviously, Rockstar never committed to a specific date, but this could reflect an internal decision to give the game more time for development. By releasing the game at the end of 2025, Rockstar will have a few more months to iron out the final details and make sure everything is ready for launch. We also hope that the bugs will not be too numerous.
Like previous games, GTA 6 should be a large-scale game, with a gigantic open world, several protagonists, and cutting-edge graphics. The game is currently in development for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and will be available on PC later, as Rockstar usually does with its games. The game will also feature a new version of the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE)which will allow for more realistic physics effects, lighting and AI.
