The German Naon unveils Zero-One, an electric scooter with 140 km of autonomy

Naon wants to find a place in the highly competitive European electric scooter market. For this, the German manufacturer unveils two versions of its Zero One.

The first, the L1e, is designed for an essentially urban mode, while the second, the L3e, is more performance-oriented.

Peaks of up to 100 km/h with the L3e version

Naon is very ambitious, and the particularly futuristic design of its new model, the Zero-One, is designed to be emulated on the Old Continent. In a plain black dress, it is oriented towards the future, with a 100% electric motorization. And to better establish itself on the European electric scooter market, Naon has decided to market two different versions of its Zero-One.

The first finish, the L1e, is ideal for essentially urban mobility. Restricted to 45 km / h, it is designed to adapt to specific regulations as ready to meet the needs of the youngest, since it is therefore possible to drive it legally with a BSR. At the detail level, the Zero-One is equipped with a 7 kW motorization, with a peak capacity reaching 10 kW.

This is particularly interesting for his L3e finish, unrestrained this time. Indeed, it is possible to reach up to 100 km / h in top speed and therefore, for example, afford a foray on the highway. Nevertheless, if you do not want to see your autonomy melt like snow in the sun, you must limit this use.

Rather prohibitive prices

The main problem of the Zero-One is, originally, not one. Designed for a battery capacity of 2.4 kW, its range can therefore optimally reach 140 km between two charges. And for good reason, Naon innovates with the Zero-One, since the battery compartment is not located under the saddle, but under the floor of the scooter. This makes it possible to carry up to two removable batteries and achieve such autonomy.

Nevertheless, Naon is strong, since the firm simply does not provide any battery with the purchase of its scooter. Count a thousand euros to get a battery, or a monthly rental of twenty-five euros. And the initial price of the Zero-One being rather salty, the bill climbs quickly.

Indeed, for the restrained L1e version, count 4920 euros (without battery therefore). And the bill is even higher with the L3e performance version. To get it, you have to pay no less than 6420 euros, or more than 7000 euros with a battery included. Will the Zero-One’s pedigree be enough to allow it to find a place in the market?
