To build customer loyalty, dealers do not hesitate to work on their communication. In Toulouse, some traffickers have gone so far as to offer scratch tickets allowing you to win cannabis for free. A “game” which allows them to win up to 10 grams of narcotics.
At first glance, you might believe it to be an official scratch game, but the prize to be won is not quite the same. In Toulouse, certain dealers have developed a particularly inventive new stratagem in order to build customer loyalty: the “Golden Hash”. This colorful ticket, visually very similar to what one could obtain on sale in a tobacconist, allows you to win up to 10 grams of cannabis, as revealed by our colleagues from La Dépêche du Midi.
Gifts and communication
The operation is rather simple for the consumer. When purchasing, the latter receives a scratch ticket from the dealers, the name of which refers to hashish. If he discovers three bees, he leaves with free cannabis. “I ordered herbal cannabis through social networks. When the order was delivered to me, the ticket was stapled to the bag,” explains a Toulouse engineer, occasional smoker, to our colleagues.
These loyalty methods are becoming more and more common in this environment. Whether it is promotional offers on social networks or even gifts in the form of rolling papers or lighters, dealers are showing more and more inventiveness to encourage their customers. Others offer products bearing the image of certain personalities in order to make things more fun. One thing is certain, drug trafficking continues to be a particularly serious scourge.
Recently, Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin indicated that in 2023, 36,429 people were arrested in connection with drug trafficking, compared to 36,196 in 2022, which corresponds to an increase of 0.64%. The tenant of Place Beauvau was particularly concerned about the sharp increase in the presence of synthetic drugs “more and more numerous arriving on European territory, and in France in particular, amphetamines, ecstasy”.
