The GRIME metroidvania is coming to Switch on January 25

The carrying of GRIME on Nintendo Switch was already expected for summer 2022, then for the end of 2022, before disappearing from the radar. Surprise announcement from Clover Bite, their metroidvania (beautiful, dark, even almost esoteric) released in 2021 on PC (and already available on PlayStation 4/5 and Xbox One/Series) will arrive on January 25, 2024 on the Nintendo hybrid. An announcement which took us all the more by surprise as the developers had already announced my start of construction on GRIME 2 last August.

Nothing to do with Wiley’s Grime

The release of the game on Switch will be accompanied by the latest expansion for GRIME, called Parting Shade. This DLC will close the trilogy of free DLCs that have expanded the universe GRIME since the release of the title. The first, Colors of Rot, opened the doors to Childbed, a new area, and included new bosses, abilities and weapons. Subsequently, Tinge of Terror included the New Game Plus mode, allowing particularly harsh post-victory runs, with modified bosses, exclusive enemies and a salvo of new items. Parting Shade, the third expansion (also free) will give access to a new area: The Weeping Cavity which should put players’ nerves to the test. Indeed, the developers have made a little comparison which will speak to fans ofHollow Knight : “Parting Shade is our parting gift to you, our players, and if any of you ever wanted to see what an edition looks like GRIME from Path of Pain, look no further. Prepare to make constant and rapid use of all the capabilities at your disposal.“Advice to fans of trichotillomaniac challenges.

GRIME: Definitive Edition will be available on the Nintendo e-shop, no physical version has been announced for the Switch version. This version will include the trilogy of DLC Colors of Rot, Tinge of Terror and Parting Shade. As for GRIME 2no release date has been disclosed at this time.

For the curious, know that a demo of GRIME is available on Steam.
