At the announcement of the death of the flagship face of the 1 p.m. TF1Jean-Pierre Foucault paid homage to him in Do not touch My TV. By videoconference from home, he told Cyril Hanouna that he was shot: “I collapsed because at TF1, we are a family. And when we lose someone in the family, someone close to the family, we are devastated“. Before adding: “I was overwhelmed with immense regret when he was the President of the Miss France jury in December for not having kept him longer with me at the end of the show, not knowing at that time that was the last time I saw him”. He also returned to the state of health of JPP who had “difficulty walking” but who “tried to brush aside his illness, thinking that this fight, this one again, he was going to win. Alas, he lost and frankly we are very very sad”.

A tribute that he concluded with: “France is widowed because there are 6 or 7 million French people who watched it every day. Jean-Pierre Pernaut’s diary was a veritable mirror. The Frenchman who looked at the newspaper found himself there, far from the Parisian intelligentsia that we hate you and me”.
