The Sims 4 still has the right to a new update. Enough to improve everything a little more, even years later. Proof that the studio is still very active.
On April 16, 2024, The Sims 4 developers at EA and Maxis announced a significant update setting the stage for the introduction of two new kits, Party Essentials and Urban Homage (April 18), scheduled for imminent release. This update is now available on various platforms, namely PC, Mac, Xbox and Playstation, and is essential for everything to run smoothly.
The Sims 4 and this month’s update
The new update brings a set of fixes and improvements, addressing various issues ranging from bugs affecting plants in the game – which previously emitted green clouds of stench despite being healthy – to more technical related fixes to malfunctions of in-game applications such as the Social Bunny App. Console players can download this update by checking for available updates in the Sims 4 main menu, while PC and Mac players can use the EA App, Origin, as well as Steam and Epic Games clients to access the last version.
Among the notable improvements, the update fixes an issue where water was not collected correctly by Dew Collectors in the eco-friendly lifestyle. Players who use the game’s social networks will notice that timestamps are now correctly updated, reducing the risk of missing in-game social events, a concern commonly referred to as FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). In short, we can note:
- Basic game fixes :
- Healthy plants will no longer produce green “stink clouds”.
- Unexpected power outages after paying bills are resolved.
- Fixed a bug in the Sim creation interface where the first and last names panels remained empty for Sims with selected pronouns.
- All Sims will now participate in group cooking.
- Gallery Server Improvements :
- Relaxation of hashtag management.
- Possibility of uploading Sims created by Maxis from previous games.
Changes that do good
- Extension-specific fixes :
- Eco Lifestyle : the dew collectors are working correctly.
- High School Years : Updated timestamps on the Social Bunny app.
- Horse ranch : Sims will no longer want to upgrade an already maxed Nectar Making skill, and horseback riding now helps with weight loss.
- For rent : Fixed issues with maximum rental values and fund transfers between businesses and residential lots.
- Crystal Creations : the shawl sweater is now visible in fashion filters.
- Kingdom of Magic : Alien abductions will result in aliens being born rather than Sims.
- Other adjustments :
- Updated Estate Castle windows to appear in the correct wall height categories and adapted the slot window for curved walls.
- Exterior wall sculptures, such as “The Heraldic Coat of Arms of Yesteryear” and “The Spy Llama,” have been updated.
