Honor Magic 6 Lite 5G
- Exceptional autonomy
- A virtually unbreakable screen
- Overall performance
- An attractive design
- Ultra wide-angle photos and videos, shameful
- Only 2 years update
- Interface sometimes a little outdated
We love it for its fantastic battery life and its unbreakable screen
We have many reasons to choose this smartphone, but its autonomy is a first distinctive asset. The Honor Magic 6 Lite is equipped with a 5300 mAh battery which allows it to last a whole day, or even more, even with intensive use. Exceptional autonomy which even allows it to climb to fourth place in the ranking of the most autonomous smartphones on the market by DxO.
Where it also surprises us is on its screen, said to be unbreakable. The Honor Magic 6 Lite screen is protected by “Anti Bounce” technology which combines a film and several layers of shock absorbers capable of absorbing up to 1.2 times the impact of a fall.
This level of resistance is very rare on a smartphone at this price. It is therefore ideal for people who tend to drop their smartphone or who work in difficult environments.
And compared to competition of the same price, what is the Honor Magic 6 Lite 5G worth?
Design | Screen | Performance | Interface | Photo/video | Autonomy / charge | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Honor Magic 6 Lite 5G | 9 | 8 | 8 | 7 | 7 | 10 |
Google Pixel 7a | 8 | 9 | 9 | 9 | 9 | 8 |
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G | 8 | 9 | 9 | 5 | 8 | 9 |
The price difference between these models is slight: between 359 and 381 euros, or no more than 22 euros. This allows a comparison on an equal price basis.
The three smartphones play in the same division and all three defend themselves very well. The choice will mainly be based on your priorities. If you’re looking for extended battery life, go for the Honor Magic Lite 6, which easily lasts more than a day. In terms of photo and video, the Google Pixel 7a is the best choice.
Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is balanced, with good performance and good photo/video quality, but suffers from a poorly designed interface.
Honor, specialist smartphone brand
Honor is a Chinese smartphone brand founded in 2013 by Huawei (separate entities since 2020). It quickly became one of the most popular brands in China, and began going international the following year.
The first Honor smartphones were entry-level and mid-range models. They offered good value for money, and quickly won over users looking for an affordable smartphone.
The brand has some essential references over the years, such as the Honor 8 (with dual sensor), the Magic 3 (triple camera), the Magic 5 Pro (high-end smartphone) and, very recently, the Honor Magic 6 Lite, which we presented to you in this article.
