Released at the beginning of last December, the long-awaited first trailer for GTA 6 excited the more than 180 million people who saw it for many reasons. But one of them has now been disproven.
This first trailer for GTA 6 allowed us to finally put a face and a voice on Lucia and Jason. This is a reminder of the couple that we will embody in the next opus, in reference to the famous duo Bonnie & Clyde. Contrary to the speculations of many, the male protagonist will not, however, be voiced by an emblematic actor in the field.
GTA 6 will be made without Troy Baker
A little forced by fate due to yet another leak, Rockstar Games urgently shared the first trailer for GTA 6 on the night of December 5. To say that it was expected is light years from reality. Since its broadcast, it has in fact recorded a colossal count of more than 180 million views. Rockstar Games games always spark speculation before release. This was particularly the case here with Jason’s English dubbing actor. It only says one word: “Trust” (or “confidence” in French). The tone of voice immediately made many think of Troy Baker’s performance. But the main person concerned spoke on the subject to dampen fans’ expectations.
As part of an interview on the YouTube channel The Movie Dweeb, the man to whom we owe the voices of Joel in The Last of Us or Higgs in Death Stranding (and many others) has indeed revealed this rumor. “ He only says ONE word. This is a lesson in perception. People hear something and automatically assume it’s true. I want this guy, whoever it is, to be recognized for his work, because I’m sure it will be good. In Rockstar games, actors like Roger Clarke (Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, editor’s note) give themselves for their performance. But on this one, I’m not one of them “.
Waiting for news from Rockstar Games
Like Troy Baker, we would like to have the final word on the story on who are the voice actors behind Lucia and Jason in GTA 6. On this point as among many others, Rockstar Games keeps for the ‘moment the secret. It must be said that the studio is very busy at the moment. This is necessary if the teams wish to achieve their goal of releasing the game in 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series.
It remains to be seen in what state GTA 6 will be able to run on said consoles. Powered by the RAGE 9 engine, the game promises to be a real graphic slap in the face. But it could be that PS5 like Xbox Series does not have enough strength to combine beauty and fluidity. Even the famous PS5 Pro might not achieve this. We will see all this in due time. However, you will have to be patient. A term which unfortunately is not really part of the vocabulary of some fans of the game, given all the major leaks it has suffered.
