fun, news, tips… what else?

More than a month after the discovery of the bodies of Leslie Hoorelbeke and Kevin Trompat, two new suspects were arrested by the gendarmes in charge of the investigation. They are added to the 3 people whose involvement has already been investigated.

On the night of November 25 to 26, 2022, Leslie Hoorelbeke, 22, and Kevin Trompat, 21, disappeared without a trace after a night out at a friend’s house. For many months, the mystery remained intact and many theories emerged around Prahecq, in Deux-Sèvres. If that of voluntary disappearance is quickly ruled out, everything was still possible. Sequestration, assassination against a background of drug trafficking, amorous resentment… The families of Leslie and Kévin remained in the dark. Between the end of February and the beginning of March, the investigators announced the arrest of three people. Tom Trouillet, First of all. Friend and matchmaker of the very young couple, it was he who was to lodge them that evening. But also two first accomplices, Nathan Badji and Enzo Challatindicted for “assassinations”, “modification of the inventory of a crime to obstruct the manifestation of the truth” and for “kidnapping and confinement without voluntary release before the 7th day.”

Thanks to the interrogations carried out by the gendarmes of Deux-Sèvres, the bodies of the two young people were finally found on March 5, 2023, buried about fifty kilometers away. A tragedy, but also a relief for the parents of Leslie and Kevin. It is a real “commando” who would have attacked the young couple this evening of November 25. And the news that fell on Friday April 14 suggests it more and more. Two additional people have been arrested in connection with the case. Wanted since early March on the denunciation of their accomplices, they are suspected of having played an active role in the ambush. Their identities have not yet been released to the public.

A double assassination against a backdrop of jealousy and drug debt

The motive for the crime gradually begins to emerge as the investigation continues. A complex mix between financial debts linked to drug trafficking and disillusionment in love. Tom Trouillet, the main suspect, knew Kevin when they were associated in a cocaine trafficking. He has also known Leslie for a long time, for whom he obviously has romantic feelings. But while he himself introduces the two young people to each other, he would have resented the fact that they got together.

This disappointment and a debt of the order of several tens of thousands of euros could be the source of the drama. Leslie, Kevin, as well as – in all likelihood – their dog Onyx, were attacked in a veritable ambush, then murdered with baseball bats or iron bars. The investigation continues to determine the roles of each of the suspects in the crime.
