Boston Dynamics shares an impressive new video of its Atlas bipedal robot.

Exit the parkour, finished the dance, make way for a robot transformed into a construction worker for the less versatile.

A stunning new demonstration by Boston Dynamics

For a few years now, the Boston Dynamics company has taken pleasure in displaying the evolution of its various robots. Over the months, the robots always impress us a little more, and if they are good at parkour or even for dancing, the Atlas robots also seem cut out to become perfect workers on construction sites.

The latest video posted by Boston Dynamics allows you to discover a new version of the robot, which comes to help a worker at height. The objective is simple: grab the tool bag below and bring it to the site manager, at the top of the scaffolding.

The Atlas robot, future king of construction sites?

Certainly, everything is done with a delicacy almost identical to that of airline employees who handle our luggage, but we have to admit that the prowess is impressive to say the least. We see the Atlas robot put down a board to facilitate its progress, but also climb stairs, and perform various jumps without ever losing its balance or the bag.

It all ends with an impressively natural spin, again with an almost perfect balance on landing. For Boston Dynamics, it is of course a question of highlighting various qualities specific to Atlas, namely its ability to grasp certain objects, but also its ability to make the best use of its environment to progress.

Now we are starting to put Atlas to work and thinking about how the robot should be able to perceive and manipulate objects in its environment. says Boston Dynamics. However, the company indicates that we are ” still a long way from seeing bipedal robots able to work reliably alongside humans “. However, this allows you to discover an overview of developments in the field of robotics.
