While the first season of the series The Last of Us just ended, fans are obviously eagerly awaiting the sequel. If the creators made everyone happy by announcing several future seasons of the program, actress Bella Ramsey has just calmed our enthusiasm by revealing the release window for season 2. Bad news: it won’t be before 2025.
Shooting planned for the end of the year
In an interview with our colleagues from The Independentthe interpreter of Ellie gave details on the potential release of the next chapter of the series The Last of Us :
“It’ll be in a while. I think we’ll probably shoot at the end of this year, or the beginning of next. So it’ll probably be late 2024, early 2025“.
A comment in line with a recent statement by Pedro Pascal (alias Joel), who announced the start of filming for the end of 2023.
Knowing that the episodes of this season 2 are still being written by the duo Craig Mazin / Neil Druckmann, a two-year delay between the two seasons is understandable. This should give the team plenty of time to adapt the game’s ambitious and complex story. The Last of Us Part IIreleased in 2020 on Playstation 4.
Via his Instagram account, Neil Druckmann, also author and director of the original game, for his part confirmed that work had already progressed well on this season 2:
An illustration shows Abby’s arm with a hammer, which will obviously have fans salivating while they wait to find out who will play this highly important character in the television adaptation. To Digitalwe would love to see actress Florence Pugh (Midsommar, Black Widow, Dunes 2) in the role, even though she’s probably already too old.
Broadcast on HBO Max in the United States, the series The Last of Us is available in France on the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform, as well as in the all-new Warner Pass, including HBO, Warner TV, Adult Swim, Toonami and many more. Note that the Pass offers a 30-day trial period until April 3.
