Series The Last of Us finally showed us its first images with a trailer which seems to indicate that the tone of the game of Naughty Dog will be respected to the letter, despite a story that will inevitably take a few detours to adapt to this new format. Which is probably for the best, since imitating the base material to perfection wouldn’t really be of any interest, and that’s why the production gave a funny piece of advice to Bella Ramseythe 19-year-old actress who plays the role ofEllie.
Do not play so as not to imitate
Asked about the role by USA Today, the actress revealed that she has never played The Last of Usnot because she didn’t want to, but because the production encouraged her not to:
” In fact, I was encouraged not to. After my first audition, they asked me: ‘Did you play?’ And I said ‘no’, and they said ‘Keep it up’. I watched some of the gameplay on YouTube just to get an idea. »
This echoes the words of Pedro Pascal who says he did not want to play the title so as not to imitate the work of Troy Baker, which allowed him to have a different approach to the character of Joel, undoubtedly more personal. It will therefore be the same for Bella Ramsey, who also declares that this role has turned her life upside down:
” But I’m so excited that the show – it was such a big part of my life. I filmed for a whole year, which is quite a long time when you’ve only lived 19 years. Pedro wrote me a little card at the end, saying, “How interesting to see something so huge and life-changing happening so early in your life and so late in mine.” I thought that was a really sweet sighting and just had a blast. »
No specific release date has been announced at this time, but the series will arrive on HBO in early 2023.
